Madison Howell
In 2025, The Irving Law Firm proudly welcomed Madison Howell to the firm. She focuses on criminal defense and civil litigation, working across teams to represent retained clients and court-appointed indigent defense clients. She also assists with resolving civil disputes in both Circuit Court and General District Court.
Madison is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She graduated in 2021 from Sewanee: The University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and three minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Classical Languages. While in college, she participated in several honor societies, volunteered at a local free health clinic, and contributed her time to The Ronald McDonald House.
She went on to earn her law degree from The Washington and Lee School of Law in 2024. During her time there, she served as an editor of the German Law Journal, led the Health Law Association as President, and was a board member of the Women’s Law Students Organization. She also worked in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, where she helped provide free legal assistance to individuals challenging IRS claims.
Throughout law school, Madison developed experience in a wide range of legal matters. She gained significant exposure to civil litigation through a legal externship with the Office of the Solicitor at the United States Department of Labor in 2023. After graduating and before joining The Irving Law Firm, she continued working primarily in civil litigation.
Outside the office, Madison enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and traveling to new destinations with her husband.
