Shelby Newcomb
Shelby Newcomb serves as the Executive Legal Assistant at The Irving Law Firm, where she supports the Managing Partner and the Civil and Business team. Her work is grounded in integrity, empathy, and a commitment to continuous improvement. She is known for being dependable and solutions focused, whether coordinating complex initiatives, improving internal workflows, or helping clients navigate important moments with clarity and confidence. Shelby believes that strong systems and supportive environments allow teams and clients alike to succeed, and she applies that perspective throughout her role.
She brings a diverse background that combines operations, project management, and people centered experience. Shelby graduated from James Madison University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and later earned a Master’s degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University in 2020. She spent several years working in education as a Special Educator and Case Manager, where she managed complex responsibilities, coordinated multidisciplinary teams, and implemented data driven systems designed to improve outcomes.
After becoming a parent, Shelby chose to transition her career toward operations and project management, earning her Project Management Professional certification in 2025. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young child, caring for her two dogs, traveling, and exploring new food and coffee experiences.
